Great smooth coffee, served by friendly folks. This place was a nice little stop after our big breakfast and walk around the town center. I had the iced almond milk latte and the Mr had a red bull italian soda I believe. Service was great and wasn't too slow on a busy Saturday mid morning, that or we weren't in a rush to run anywhere. The latte was smooth and delicious with no bitter after taste, I loved it, the redbull italian soda was pretty good as well, I got only a little sip.Prices were pretty good and wallet friendly. Very cute place, to grab a little java and walk along the trail, next time we'll try the gelato.

Cute place! Very friendly staff chatted with me while I waited for my latte. Didn't take long and it was artistic and scrumptious. I glanced at the gelato and it looked absolutely beautiful but, I just came for coffee and was delighted with this spot.

The good: plenty of space to work. The coffee, ice cream, and gelato are good. They added more comfortable seating to the patio area. You can buy beer and wine as well. The bad: I've been coming to Spotted Cow since it opened, and while I know the business has changed since then, I don't really care much for the changes. The food menu is now very limited and is largely what they order from Molly's ( growntoeat.com ), which means other than toasting bagels, very little is prepared in-house, and I remember when you could get awesome made-to-order sandwiches here. Also, the wi-fi access is now either: ask for code at time of transaction for two hours, watch an ad for three hours, or purchase access online. I used to spend hours here, buying food, drink, and dessert, and being online. I probably won't be back, since the coffee and dessert options aren't enough to make me want to spend hours here, spending money and surfing the 'net.

The relaxing and calm, Cafe-type atmosphere, and some homemade Gelato on the side? What more can you ask for? All the other reviews talks about this Cafe type atmosphere so i'll get straight to the Gelato review. Spotted Cow has a large selection of Gelatos (more than 31 flavors?), ranging from the regular "chocolate and vanillas" to the experimental. It's hella good just come through.

I was greeted and helped by a very fun and friendly staff. I ordered a glass of wine. The place is packed with mostly who I assumed to be local high schoolers...the hipster, coffee house-dwelling ones of course. The decor is super cute: a cross between country and industrial-inspired. I will definitely be back if it's not too busy.

The coffee itself was actually quite delicious. It had a nice nutty flavor and didn't have an acidic/bitter aftertaste. The interior felt wide open and had that industrial look that all the cool kids like these days. I was just there for what I planned to be a brief second so that's all I can say about the "ambiance" of the place. My problem with them was the speed (or lack thereof) of service. There were 2 people ahead of me in the line. Both already knew what they wanted and both didn't have anthology-like requests for their drinks. I think one ordered a latte and another ordered an iced latte. It took me more than 20 minutes (I checked a text I sent around when I entered the establishment as my time reference by the time I left the place) to get my drink which was a cappuccino. Because they were actually awfully nice, I tried my best to not be a jerk. In my efforts to not look like one, by the time I got my drink I looked positively constipated trying to unfurl every part of my face that was turning into a deep, deep scowl. If I had seen a coffee harvester with a wheel barrow of coffee cherries to still be processed into the drink I had, I might have forgiven the wait. But alas I did not. Yes I know I sound like an awfully cranky 'Murrcan who has no appreciation for a leisurely life but until the Seattle Metro area starts mandating that we all take siestas and take 2 hour long lunches, I do not have 20+ minutes to wait for a cup of coffee at 1 pm no less with only a couple other people in line with me.

I came here one evening because it was close and looked like a relaxing place to hang out. They serve some small food items, coffee, some alcoholic beverages, and ice cream. I just got a hard cider and a cookie. The staff was very friendly and we chatted about ciders we liked and local cider houses. There is a nice ambiance, and plenty of seating indoors and outdoors. The prices are very reasonable, I think I spent less than $5 on a cider and cookie. It was a perfect place to sit outside reading a book while the sun set.

I've been coming to Spotted Cow frequently on the weekends lately because, for me, it fits my needs as a study place. More importantly, it has coffee (more about that later) and it's got sufficient working space (unlike the Starbucks down in the Town Center). The noise level can get a little noisy because of it being so popular, however, I've never had it become a distraction for my studying. There is also live music on Fridays and/or Saturdays - which makes it a cozy place to just sip on some coffee and chill to some tunes. They also have home-made ice cream! Oh man, their ice cream/gelato is so good. They have a lot of unique flavors too, such as: Rice, Honey Lavender, Pumpkin Spice, Wedding Bliss (can't describe this one, but it's good). Their ice cream is definitely a very welcome snack I like to treat myself to! Unfortunately, I'm not feeling the coffee. At $2.25 for a tall drip coffee, it's more pricey than other coffee shops I frequent. Also, it's a little too sour for me. I understand acidity is a desirable trait for coffee, but it's actually quite sour if you drink it black. I will say, if you drink it while eating the ice cream, it's fan-freaking-tastic! Overall, while the coffee is a weak point, this place has many desirable things that keep me coming back.

I love this coffee shop! The atmosphere is inviting! The workers are nice, make conversation and their coffee is great! Will come again!

Very likeable place for sure. I can't comment on the ice cream stuff, since I was only here for coffee, but they nail that part of the job without a doubt. This is a newer place built in a long series of nicely-constructed strip mall spaces in Mill Creek. It has an end space, with three continuous walls of floor to ceiling windows. Lots of light and feels very open. There's a long series of tables, couches, chairs, and gathering spots by all the windows, and a long series of bars full of coffee and ice cream or gelato or something along the back. The kids here are super nice, and the line moves quickly. We had an americano and a hot chocolate. The americano was great--lots of flavor, a little too hot at first, stayed warm a long time, still tastes good at room temp in my truck (sorry if that part grosses you out, but the coffee really is good). Good pirces--$5 for two drinks, and they made them well. I could easily see coming back to try the ice cream/gelato/whichever it was. This place has a great location (for me), decent parking, and the service and prices are nice.

This place duped me hard. I saw the pictures of their breakfast sandwiches on yelp and thought they looked really good and made on site so I came here one morning to get food and coffee. The breakfast sandwich was pre packaged and just heated up in their microwave and the English muffin ended up being soggy. Pretty disappointed. Coffee was good. They charge you for 4 shots if you get three because they only have double sized shot glasses and can't seem to only fill them halfway.

Wow! I don't think I've ever been this impressed with a coffee shop. For many reasons, this place blew me away. Service: I didn't have to wait in line very long and the cashier was genuine, well-mannered and friendly. Unlike most other coffee-shop employees, she didn't make me feel ashamed for not knowing how to order my drink in a regular cup instead of a to-go cup. Ambience: comfy leather chairs, easy access entrances and varying table sizes; every walk of life could be absolutely comfortable coming here. The GOODS: I ordered an espresso and it was very refreshing to see that it came with seltzer water and a spoon. Not many places (unless you ask) offer this automatically. I don't drink coffee or lattes or anything with too much sugar, just espresso, and their's was wonderfully tame and tasted great. ALSO, I ordered the new tea: Bombay Chai and it was so tasty even without any kind of sweetner. Price: for a grande tea and espresso I paid under $5 and tipped $3 just because of the excellent service I recieved. Location: very easy to get to and plenty of parking. I parked in the back lot and there were many spots. I never realized how cute this area was! I can't wait to come back to try the ice cream! The display case was so alluring!

AWFUL Wi-Fi policy!! We used to love the Spotted Cow and have been coming fairly frequently for the past few months to work/ study. We always purchase drinks- multiple if we're there for more than a couple hours and occasionally food (would more often but they have limited vegetarian options and no vegan options for me). The staff is hit or miss- some are darling people, some are hipsters who are too cool, but usually it's a great experience. Their coffee is good, the space is really cute and comfortable- lots of comfy chairs and tables/ chairs. But, they just changed their Wi-Fi policy and it is without a doubt the most ridiculous I have ever encountered from a business. Going beyond the normal password with purchase common at most coffee houses, you now have to enter your email address to receive 2 hours, or you can enter a code that you get with purchase that you have to ask for and they will only give you one code per transaction, even if multiple drinks are ordered. None of this is noted anywhere to see prior to purchase. Even though my husband and I each ordered a drink, they would only give us one code (only valid for 120 min), so you need to have each drink on a separate check if you need more than one code, or if you are willing to give them and their Wi-Fi portal provider your email... You also have the option of purchasing additional time for multiple devices. Needless to say, we will not be returning unless they change their policy. It's really unfortunate; we really enjoyed previous experiences.

We love coming here. Friendly service and a cute environment. Our little (14 mo) loves coming here with us and exploring, trying out all the chairs and staring at the ice cream cooler...she's always greeted with a smile. Coffee is decent and they have hemp and almond milk which is cool as we are non-dairy. Why anyone would go to Starbucks when this coffee shop is here is beyond me.

I came out to the Spotted Cow for our women's group - we couldn't meet at our usual spot and this was a recommendation from the group leader. Because I work in Seattle, I came out to Mill Creek early to beat traffic. I am so glad I did. I had a couple hours to kill, so I ordered a caprese sandwich, Pellegrino and 16 oz. vanilla latte. They all are absolutely delicious. The caprese sandwich has a ton of mozzarella (my fave) and the vanilla latte is delectable. Spotted Cow has free Wifi and a perfectly arranged space for maximum, but comfy seating. The baristas are all very sweet. If I lived in Mill Creek, I would be here every day. I suppose it's good for my wallet that I live in Seattle. :)

The place is very nice and calming. Perfect for studying. The coffee in the other hand is horrible! I ordered a 16oz. Mocha and all I could taste was water and caffeine. Just gross. It was over $4 for a drink that tasted like the iced mocha from 7 eleven! I did get up after to have it re made to make it less strong of caffeine and I am almost sure they dropped some and just added more water. A disappointing experience for sure and did not expected because the place is so nice. I expected quality coffee not cheap.

I've been to the Spotted Cow a few times now, and I really like this place for the most part. It's very hispter/organic/Portlandish, which reminds me of Intelligentsia. The staff are generally friendly and helpful. Onto the coffee.. I think their roast is overall, pretty good. If I had to, I would compare it something like Intelligentsia whereas the latte-type drinks seem to be focused on the bold coffee flavor and less on syrups. It's pretty cool how they serve coffee here in several forms - Aeropress, espresso, drip, etc. Prices are slightly high, but nothing ridiculous like Starsucks. What I REALLY love about this place is the Gelato. So many good flavors at a great price!

  • Jane C.

Absolutely Delicious! I don't really come here for the coffee. I actually come here for their absolutely amazing gelato! First off, they have awesome flavours like rice - Win! Second, they have affogato - win and win! Third, everything is delicious and they have live bands - win win win (if that's your thing) Service here is hit and miss, depending on how busy and how many staff they have on hand. I did not give Spotted Cow a full 5 stars because the place seems a little unorganized at times. The price point is on par with other similar places. But regardless, seriously come here for their gelato! Oh aand don't forget to Check-in for 15% off your coffee!

Trying to find good quality coffee north of Seattle can be difficult at times. The Spotted Cow is really making an effort to change this. If you are a coffee connoisseur and are looking for quality fresh coffee then you need to check this place out. Not too many places will serve you coffee from an Aero Press, Chemex, V60 let alone give you a little education on the beans and how they prepare a good cup a coffee. And if you are in a hurry their regular drip is great, plus having free refills is just one more reason not to go anywhere else. Taylor Clouse Nutrition Expert

As crazy as this sounds, it's hard to find a GOOD cup of coffee North of Seattle. But, Spotted Cow has changed that. Atmosphere is quant, big bright windows and roasted beans fill the air. Michael has served me twice, each time my latte was perfect temperature and texture.. (Not this bubbly goop that craps out of Starbucks.) I enjoy the simplicity of the shop, but the coffee brewed and prepared is even better. Not to mention the town center of Mill Creek is nestled away, great for a Sunday afternoon.

Best coffee shop in the area. If you are looking for good ambiance, fun and pleasant staff and well made coffee, go to Spotted Cow. They are knowledgable on the coffee they bring in and sell in bulk so you have all the caffeine you need!

I used to be a regular, but stopped coming so often with the management changes a few years ago. But my husband is still a regular and he brought me here for Mother's Day. The Spotted Cow still has what I think is the best coffee in Mill Creek. But the service is not fast. Not glacially slow, but not swift either. But the reason I'm writing this review is the accumulation of dust on the lights and grid over the espresso machine and ice cream/gelato counter. It's gross! Some serious cleaning (after hours when no food is being served) is really needed. All that dust is really unappetizing

Great coffee with a great appeal. I'm just giving this place a four star because they need to open at 6 instead of 7 so that I could get coffee before work :(

I love this place! Perfect for studying (except for Saturday nights when they have live music).. Vanilla caramel latte is my favorite drink.. Yummm.. What else!! Oh yes the baristas are super nice and friendly.. And their ice creams are awesome as well!!! They have a 15% off coffee orders coupon on yelp, if anyone is interested!

The best coffee in Mill Creek and the service is always great! Love the comfortable feel and the community board is just great! Such an awesome way to pay it forward! Also, give yourself a treat sometime at the slow coffee bar. You won't be disappointed. Very friendly staff!!

Visit after visit to the Spotted Cow - I ask myself why did I make the same mistake again? This place leaves a bad taste in my mouth. The staff is usually pugnacious and pretentious. The general attitude comes across something like: we are doing you a favor by taking your order. The food, especially the breakfast sandwiches, are substandard. The proportions for the ice cream/gelato vary wildly. Prices are expensive for the value. As for me, this mistake will not be repeated again. Mill Creek offers superior options within walking distance.

One of my favorite study spots up north. Whether in the morning or at night, although it can get pretty crowded on weekend nights. Wifi is FAST and reliable. Plenty of seats and plugs. Coffee is really good. Tastes fresh. Good selection of SF syrups. I usually get a skinny white mocha. I tasted my sisters regular mocha and it was also superb. As for gelato, not the best or creamiest gelato I've tasted in Seattle, but good enough for being one of the very few gelato places up north. My personal favorite is the hazelnut. Mango is the runner up. I tried a lot of flavors and these were the only 2 that really stood out to me. But that's just my opinion.

Hip spot with fabulous ice creams that taste fresh and not overly sweet. Keep up the good vibes!

I've yet to have their coffee...so write now this rating is based off their service and ice cream/gelato. I've been here three times now and just LOVE their gelato. Some of the flavors can be a bit unusual (RICE?!) but when tried, they're actually pretty good. Yes, I did bring home a small container of rice gelato. It tasted like rice pudding, it was yummy. :) I brought my brother here once as well and he loved the gelato as well. One day I'll actually try the coffee and non-gelato offerings. Their service is awesome as well. I haven't ever been here during rush times but the staff is always very friendly.

I cam in here with my 3 year old and I left very impressed. They have a lot of nice chairs and big cushioned couches to sit on which my son enjoyed. Big glass walls to look out and enjoy whatever weather the wonderful NW is giving us that day. My son had a hot chocolate which he liked. I had a spiced chai which was also pretty good. The employees gave great service and seemed like they really wanted to make each drink good which you don't get at some other chain coffee shops where they are more worried about getting as many orders done as fast as possible. I will be back to try some of the other things on the menu and to try the gelato for sure.

We just came here today & stood in line at the register & the guys behind the counter ignored my fiancé & I for a solid 5 minutes. They made eye contact with us several times & they never said a word. If you like watching 14 year olds make out on their couches then this is the place for you. Won't be back!

I don't know how I haven't ever noticed this place before, and I come to Mill Creek Town Center pretty often! I met up with some people from a class to work on a project here. I was envisioning a teeny tiny coffee shop where people glared at us for using up tables to study but this place was a decent size and PACKED with students doing the same exact thing that we were doing. I can't eat dairy or drink caffeine so my options were pretty limited here. I tried to order a bottle of water but apparently they don't carry them which I found to be unusual. Instead I just had a San Pelligrino soda even though it was cold outside. The coffee drinks were beautiful - I'm not sure what my study buddies ordered but they looked delicious. I also couldn't keep my eye off of the gelato. Hazelnut is my favorite, and I would have killed for a cup. It's nice to find such awesome looking gelato up North.

  • DJ Tee R.

I came in for a scoop of gelato. They don't have a huge selection but have all of the common gelateria flavors such as stracciatella, hazelnut, cappuccino, pistachio. They also have sorbet like gelato flavors such as lemon and bluberry. All those flavors are fine but the one that stands out the most is definitely their Honey Lavender flavor. It is so fragrant and after each bite, your breath feels re-freshened for a while. This place has a great cafe feel to it - with great big glass walls to watch passerby/surroundings or to simply enjoy the sun. People with laptops, a group hangout, family, or couples can be found here. It has plenty of seating with wooden tables. And the person behind the counter was nice and friendly. Offers fast and reliable Wifi and plenty of power outlets.

I come here everytime I need a little pick me up or if I need a little boost of caffiene. Their gelato is delicious and their staff is incredibly nice. I take my kids that I nanny here all the time for a small treat. They have a really chill modern atmosphere . I enjoy doing my homework there while sipping on a red bull italian soda. Definitely a loyal customer at the spotted cow :)

  • Rachel H.

I've come to this cafe to study various times. Coffee was great & their gelato is to die for (especially the coconut flavor!!). The only thing I wish for this place is that they had more outlets. I don't have an overly fancy laptop with a long battery life so it was kind of a bummer to not have a place to plug in my computer a couple times. However, I understand that it's just the way the building is built so I didn't want to knock off a star for that considering it's really not the employees fault. :)

  • Jarenn N.

This place deserves more than the current rating it has. The boyfriend and I wanted some late night dessert so we stopped at the Spotted Cow for the first time and loved the atmosphere. The decor was cute and there was live music and a happy crowd of people either chatting with friends, reading a book, or surfing the net. We ordered a small cup with Tiramisu ice cream and Madagascar vanilla ice cream. The Tiramisu was delicious! We also tried the Rice ice cream out of pure curiosity and that was great as well! We can't wait to go back and try their other flavors! If you go frequently, make sure to download the Pirq app to get discounts!

Fabulous coffee prepared by fun and friendly baristas. There is a ton of seating in everything from squashy armchairs to tidy work tables; theres even a larger space in the back that you can reserve ahead of time for big meetings. Theyre a more personal spot, with a "cow"mmunity board where customers can leave notice of drinks for friends, regulars, or deserving strangers like "another proud stay at home dad" for whom they've pre-paid.

Spotted Cow is a great place to get together with friends to chat, study, and get coffee. I think it has a nice ambience. It's really chill, and the employees there are super friendly. There's something about Spotted Cow that has a more relaxed feel than Starbucks. There's definitely more tables, and I really like the way everything is laid out. I'm not sure which days, but there's live music there on certain nights, so it does get pretty loud in there on those nights. The Americanos and teas there are good, and there's a wide variety of gelato. I'm a fan!

Found that you really do not get much ice cream for the $, and while it is good ice cream, I did not think that it was impressive. The place is clean, and the staff is really nice and friendly, I would go back.

This coffeeshop/ice cream shop has an interesting dual identity. It doesn't feel like anything else out there.. and for that, I can't give it 5 stars because I feel you can't really have a private, intimate conversation there (as you would some coffeeshops) but then you can't be as free to talk out loud as if it were some ice cream shop (like Molly Moon's or Old School Frozen Custard).

    (4)
  • Brian K.

First off - I love Starbucks. They are consistent and good at what they do (latte drinks featuring flavored syrups and average beans). Spotted Cow is a reminder of what we are missing with the domination of Starbucks. A store with a ton of personality, beans with flavor (not just over-roasted .....). Also the ice creams and gelatos are fantastic. What a gem!

Spotted Cow, if I'm not mistaken, is now under new management. Like any change, there are positives and negatives, but right now the negatives are weighing heavier in my mind. Spotted cow before was warm. Comfy. Cozy. You could get comfortable in the big couches or brown chairs at a big rustic table with your friends or group. You had tons of hot food selections when you got hungry and while not always consistently friendly, the baristas seemed like true barista types. Now the walls are painted a light blue, the chairs are silver, the colorful menus are gone and the big tables have vanished. It's cold and impersonal, and it makes me miss the early days of spotted cow a lot. I'm not all sour grapes about the changes, however. I noticed as a part of the change is the removal of the kids area. It's probably not a welcome change for parents, but it did take up a lot of space that was needed when it got really full so that was nice to see. Also, I noticed they're bakery items are from local retailers (a la Frost, just down the road) which is cool. I'm sure if there was a middle-point met between the old SC and the new SC this place could be perfect - but for now I think it went a little too far in the other direction.

They have such delicious coffee! Not as sweet as starbucks which is mainly the reason why I like it so much. I have not tried their food but they do have gelato and Ice cream available and it is amazing! Perfect place to study and meet up with a friend. The only thing I can complain about is the baristas weren't the friendliest to me last time I was there...

So this is a review update, the coffee has come back and the staff seems to be getting more experienced with good coffee. Even though one of the managers does not even drink coffee ;) So if your in snohomish county this is the only place to drink coffee. Make sure to get the Ethiopian and don't waste your time with weather vain.

If you're after a quick coffee to go, this is definately not the place. Extremely slow service to the point where it is painful. I rarely complain but 15 minutes to get a coffee? come on now!

thank you, Spotted Cow for the free scoop voucher!!! I haven't used it yet, but will soon! I actually went in to find a few new flavors I got a split single scoop of toasted almod & pistachio. OH MY!!! you must try!!!

First of all, the service here is prompt and friendly. I cannot comment on the coffee because we went in for gelato. I ordered a small which came with two scoops. The flavors I ordered were Rice and Coconut, which were both delicious. My boyfriend ordered the Lemon Ice Sorbet which he enjoyed. The portions are big, and the prices are reasonable. We will be back!!

Each of the three times I've been here the staff has been friendly and attentive. I tried a different drink and had a special (pain in the ass) request with each, like extra concentrate in my toddy, half water in my latte and an iced tea instead of hot. All three visits they cheerfully accommodated my quirky requests and filled the order with a smile. The espresso itself is a little mild for my liking as I prefer a more roasted taste, but I overheard the staff talking about different beans so maybe they'll have a few different offerings in the future. The chocolate hazelnut gelato is dreamy although the pistachio left a bit to be desired. The barista spilt my kid scoop between the two flavors which was beyond sweet given I couldn't pick just one. I'll be back for sure.

Forget coldstone and B&R. When I have to stay up north, this is the only ice cream place I like to go to. They have a variety of ice creams, sorbets, baked goods, and espresso. They always have some cool and innovative flavors such as rice (tastes like rice pudding), and lavender. Of course they always have the standards like chocolate, vanilla, and chocolate peanut butter. The ambience is warm and inviting. I especially like that they have leather sofas to hang out on. They have been around a while and I hope they continue to do well!

I adore the Spotted Cow! Not only is their coffee delicious, they have gelato!! The baristas/cashiers are always friendly and sometimes there are free cookies for customers! The best is grabbing a treat after eating dinner in the town center, or heading here on a weekend morning to grab a bite and a latte before starting our day. As a side thought: I do think a punch card system would be a great addition to the Spotted Cow. Note: There are no changing tables in the bathrooms-which makes it not the best place to grab coffee with a baby in tow

I've always loved the atmosphere & the ice cream here. I have yet to find the "one thing" on the coffee menu that I love but there is definitely a lot of variety. Everyone is really friendly and although it can get loud sometimes, it's a chill spot in Mill Creek Town Center to catch up on some bills or homework or to just visit with an old friend.

The Spotted Cow was a perfect stop after our dinner date. I had a scoop of ice cream made in house, and my husband had a beer! My ice cream was creamy and fresh, my husband got a chilled glass for his beer... We both left happy! As a side note, the coffee smells delish and the girl who helped me was pleasant and let me taste test as many of the ice creams that I wanted until I made my choice!

I've been wanting to check this place out for some time and was finally able to Saturday morning. My friend and I met there around 10am and it was pretty busy but we were lucky enough to find an empty table. I ordered a hazelnut latte with a breakfast sandwich, both were divine! I'll definitely be back to try the gelato! The vibe is hipster coffee house meets suburbia in a good way lol

Great coffee shop with the added benefit of handmade ice creams and shakes! I mostly come for coffee and a work space, but I've also splurged once in a while! (Luckily LA Fitness is next door, you can go make your penance for the milkshakes right away!) I also love that it's locally owned, feels more authentic.

The service here is always great. They have a board setup where you can leave drink/food vouchers for friends which is a nice idea. Coffee is always great.

Went to Spotted Cow cafe lastx2 Friday, it was my very first visit. Lovely rustic interior design&lighting, plenty of chairs&tables. Most of people were w/their laptops. Overall pretty chill, relaxed atmosphere. I liked the arrange of coffee gadgets as well as Spotted Cow branded goods they had. Two people who were working there were nice and helpful. I ordered Americano and a Club sandwich, but had to switch to Caprese because they ran out of turkey. Was actually glad that they ran out of it because the Caprese I got was very delicious! :) Americano had a clean taste, not much smokiness or spice. It was okay. Tried gelato as well which was pretty good. Overall, good experience. loved the atmosphere, good food. Looking forward to my next visit.

What has happened to this place? It used to be good with generous portions; we had frequented the location on 132nd in years gone by. I had all but written off the mill creek location due to: a body hair blended into my ice-cream on one visit and then on 2 other occasions being asked to leave during business hours due to private parties going on. Very weird. Today my daughter asked to go there while I wanted to go to Frost. We'll, first off the less than friendly worker provided us with 2 samples, the size of a raisin - what?? Then he informed us that they were out of cones - it was 2p on a Friday - he quipped "sorry" and offered a waffle bowl for $1. Then he proceeded to scoop a size small (used to be plenty) with a cookie dough scooper (recognized since I own one) and scooped 2 scoops the size of eggs. I was so shocked that I didn't know what to say. I thought I was being punked. Never going back and I can only guess that they are having money issues.

It's my favorite place to study on Sunday mornings! Coffee is amazing, same price range as Starbucks if not a little bit cheaper ( but it's not fair to compare it to Starbucks since their coffee is way better), ice cream is delicious, and customer service is awesome.

I love this place! It is a cozy cafe that has ice cream and great lattes! What more can someone ask for? They have lots of tables and free internet. Regardless of the size of the cafe, it gets pretty crowded here. I highly suggest stopping by.

Say what you will about the ice cream (looked delicous when I was there) .. the coffee is the real deal. They have a roaster on site that roasts what I think is 10-15 lb of coffee at a time, ensuring that the beans are fresh. The owner is a pro. I'm getting into home roasting and have become familiar with the tastes, notes, aromas, and methods of some methods of coffee roasting. These guys know what they're doing. I sat down for a pour-over and the owner himself took the time to explain what he was doing, what to look for in a pour over, and what to look for in the taste. It was a real eye opener. I'm going to have to come back and get a lecture on French press coffee as I got a nifty new mug that has a press inside. I shall be back for a variety of reasons! Ambiance was pretty good, with some widespread but funny signs around, and the layout had a good mix of normal chair/tables and lounging chairs. I sat at the coffee bar. Awesome all around.

After reading other reviews I was super excited to try this place . Nothing beats delicious homemade Ice Cream but this places just did not meet expectations . I tried a bunch of different flavors and none stood out but at that point I felt bad and like I had to buy something . None of the ice cream tasted very creamy and the ingredient didn't taste like they were high quality . Honestly grocery store ice cream tastes better to me . I got the tagalong ice cream and I would recommend just go to the grocery store and get the dryers version. I wish I had gone to cold stone instead to get my ice cream fix .

LOVE it here! Their are some seriously awesome staff members that make it personable and the environment is a rustic home. They have a banquet table and side area that you can reserve as often as you want. Their coffee is delicious and they serve wine and ice cream with live music a couple times a week. Go to work, relax, catch up with a friend or have a date - it's awesome!

Redemption is possible. I wrote a previous review that disparged the selections and portions and to Spotted Cow's credit they encouraged me to come back and give them another try. I did and I have to say it was much better this time. The staff was friendly and helpful, the portions were back to expectations, and the flavors were better though I still miss "wedded bliss" with "milk chocolate." Well done and I will be back.

What an improvement! I wrote off this place years ago as a dingy, dirty, pain in the rear. I met a local publisher there and was shocked and thoroughly impressed with the changes. The seating is 1000% better, the cesspool children's area removed (and hey, I used to own Tot Spot Cafe, I get the concept!) and the atmosphere was relaxed but warm and welcoming. My cappuccino was excellent. I was a bit sad they didn't have vanilla powder or cinnamon at the ready...I'm picky, I prefer a dash of powder and cinnamon instead of syrup. Prices were pretty low considering the quality and the staff was friendly.

It's really unfortunate that this place makes such a horrible coffee. The environment is nice with plenty of places to sit. They have tables, various large comfy chairs, artwork on the walls, games and books for people to select from, free Wi-Fi, the baristas are friendly, and they have ice cream. The problem with this place is they consistently make a terrible latte. My girlfriend drinks soy with her latte's, and out of three chances we have given them to make it right they have failed all three. Usually the soy is burnt with the most recent time the cub being full of half foam. Which would be fine if she had ordered a cappuccino but she didn't. I can accept an occasional bad drink from a coffee shop, but for as busy as this place is, I'm amazed as to how many people will drink horrible coffee. And apparently it is a lot because this place is always packed. Oh, and another thing I don't like about the Spotted Cow, they have a children play area. Which equals lots of screaming child noise bounding off the walls and cement floors. For the parents out there, you can bring your kids here all you want because going forward I will be going elsewhere.

Hubby & I just moved to the Mill Creek area and The Spotted Cow has become our favorite cafe to hang out at. Our Internet isn't hooked up yet, so coming here has been a lifesaver to get homework done! I've noticed some nights it gets more crowded (and noisy) than others but we can always find a seat. And they have almond milk. Almond milk!! This vegan is grateful for choices other than soy :) Hubby's favorite drink is the hot chocolate. Try it out!

Looked for a nice place to sit and read with a latte before work. Found this while meandering up 527 the other day, and will go back every morning! The atmosphere is right up my alley, very homey and rustic. Even better, this week they are doing half priced espresso from 6-8am. Being the morning person I am, I show up at 6:30am with my book and 90 minutes to kill, and enjoy a 20 ounce non-fat latter for under 2 dollars! The coffee is great, the service is awesome, and the chairs next to the fireplace are some of the most comfortable i've found, what is there to complain about?

This spot has its good days and its bad days. The bad days: The noise level isn't crazy loud (i.e. screaming kids), but it's understandable for me since its a loungey spot with ice cream/gelato and a kids area. I guess it's expected. When it's so crammed pack there is no where to sit. When the bigger tables are "reserved" and I can't sit there, only to find that no one showed up for the reservations. The one bathroom that ends up getting a line because it's one for both guys and gals. When there is a cranky barista... sorry, it shouldn't be that hard to give your customers a simple GRIN. I'll even take a smirk. One barista to 3 coffee orders, 2 people in line for ice cream and 1 person with a burning question... yeah it takes awhile. I think its a pretty large place to only have one worker. The good days: A nice, constant flow of customers. When there isnt' a birthday or award ceremony taking place next to the table I'm studying at. A yummy tuscan sandwich... it's awesome! I love their tea bar... even better when the teas are labeled correctly. It's a love/hate relationship. NOTE: Please bring cash to tip your barista. They don't have a tip line on their credit card transactions and I never carry cash... so I try to remember now-a-days.

Gozonkers, Bro. I used to come hear quite a bit and it was always good, but not 1000% (I'm super picky). It seems someone knows what they're doing or is paying attention because a lot has changed since I last came. They have revamped the sandwiches (awesome), re-styled all the furniture so more people can sit, and completely updated the bathrooms. My coffee even seems to taste better and the service even seems friendlier. So stoked! Definitely will be back more often.

The coffee here is truth, I love the nutty flavors when mixed with the gelato. The gelato is also pretty amazing by itself, coconut is my favorite. Service can be spotty at times but overall, I have had good experiences. Worth a visit.

Really disappointed that there is no longer a kids area. That was my ONLY reason for going there. In my opinion you can get better and more consistant coffee and service down the street at Starbucks or at the UW bookstore where you can also get Top Pot donuts. If you are looking for icecream I would say try coldstone the icecream here was frostburnt last time I had it. Clearly the new owners are going for a hipper, younger crowd, and I really can appreciate that but it means this place is no longer some where I'll go.

First - I did have a latte that was decent. No real complaints there They did confuse the small detail of me ordering a nonfat but oh well. If I REALLY wanted it remade I would hope they would have, but ultimately I was done with the place and didn't feel the need. So I guess I would give the coffee a 3.5. Now to the nitty-gritty as they would say. The reason for the 1 Star? Service. We were actually going there for the second attempt to use a Gift Certificate we had. The gelato and sorbet were the real reason we were stopping in - looking for nondairy options. The first time we went, they ran out of Sorbet so we left. This time we actually had an employee tell us that gelato was nondairy. Being leery of this I checked my phone. Good thing I did - gelato, though it is very low on the dairy scale and does actually include sorbets technically (a point rudely made over and over again by the manager - more later). We were told the employee was new but some people aren't eating dairy due to an allergy - not some vegan life choice so its not exactly a minor detail. I should note that there was no apology for the error given. Side note: the one girl barista was very good/cool... on to the manager. What a condescending jerk. He seemed to really have a need to tell us how low in butterfat gelato is compared to ice cream and how sorbet IS gelato. OK so technically, yeah... but who cares? We were asking for NON-DAIRY not low-dairy. Though the reaction in our particular group would not have been life-threatening it sure is uncomfortable for the little guy. Perhaps informing his employees as to the butterfat content, differences ect is a little more important then pushing the fact on me - i have Wiki and so far it has been more accurate. I have to say that there is no way I will be back. On my next visit to Central Market I will likely score my coffee at Starbucks and would suggest to others to do the same. Service is faster, employees are ALL nice, and there are ice cream alternatives nearby if I need them. Reading the reviews here I hope that anyone who does go to the spotted cow does not have the misfortune of dealing with the manager directly. Above and beyond, he was personally responsible for a poor experience at the cow. To those reviewers who brought in outside food... i can understand being asked not to bring it in, but in this economy I really don't understand being so much of a snob to turn any business away. But, hey, they DO have a right to refuse service - just as I and others have a right to bring my business elsewhere.

SO, as of July 2012 new owners, new menu and new coffees! Those who haven't been in since new ownership, it's a completely new (and better) experience all the way around! I love the "East Coast" panini, quad "bull" Americano and I purchase their newest roast (a coffee that is direct trade from Honduras)! Best coffee on the planet! If yuou're a "hater" great...stay away...place is ALWAYS busy anyway. Lastly, the young people that work there are friendly, respectful, many working multiple jobs and or students. They do a great job and I LOVE "Spotty's"!!

Passion fruit gelato that is all I have to say. It was amazing and I wished I lived closer because it was that good. It is a very eclectic mix of decor and a good place for people watching. I plan on going more often and trying all the other things they offer.

Their business reeks, what more to say? Oh wait... Of course, specifically speaking about the manager. Everyone else is friendly. The manager... He could care less about who you are, least want to hear from you. Long story short: Was trying to speak to him about a non-profit organization that would help homeless families and wondered if their store could donate cards so families would enjoy them... The whole time, from the moment I greeted him, he was working on that coffee machine of his, not even bothering to look up. He had the guts to continue to work on his coffee and pretend to be busy until we finished and waited for him to reply. Guess he was that annoyed and quickly took the letter from us and set it aside. Sorry, not sure how long you guys will last. Starbucks down the street may not serve ice cream, but your service, especially your attitude is like trash against an average company like them. The group of friends used to make this a hot study spot... But Starbucks is our new destination. You've just lost about 10 frequent customers, and more now thanks to Yelp :-)

I've been coming here for years. I used to frequent both places when they had the store open at Thomas Lake. I have to say I love the new look of the place after the new manager took over and remodeled. I am glad they removed the kiddy section in the back and opened it up to more seating. It can be pretty packed in here from time to time. The coffee and snacks are great. The new sandwiches they offer are also delicious. The baristas are friendly and most know me by name now and what my drink is without telling them. Nice job guys!

I like this place, the environment, and the Baristas and cashiers are sweet. I also like that they have decadent ice cream flavors (which you can sample) and a great wine selection if you're in the mood for something a little different. The mocha's and caramel macchiatto's are very yummy and the coffee flavor is boldly strong which I love. A great place to hang out with friends, or work on your laptop in a very nice towncenter location.

Small children's area with table for one adult inside of it. Great tasting food and coffee. The big attraction here is the menu since the children's area here is very small but it has books, toys, and is gated off so they can't run off in their excitement. The food is quite excellent and definitely catered towards adults. The children's area is in a far corner of the shop so that the adults without children can feel they are in a regular coffee shop and yet the ones with children can have a corer of their own.

Plenty of great food and drink. Feel like something sweet, there's ice cream. Some of the flavors have funny names like the Minty Manure. Tasty stuff. There's plenty of places to sit and a fireplace to boot. The staff are always friendly and happy to serve you ice cream/gelato samples. Friday and Saturday nights sometimes feature live music, most of which is quite good. I always enjoy coming here. It's a nice place to get coffee, breakfast, lunch or dessert, or to just hang out.

Where this place excels is in the Gelato. Essentially it's what I come here for. Their gelato is consistently good and couple that with a really nice atmosphere and some real lt huge tables, and it creates a nice spot to meet with friends or even take your main squeeze out on a gelato fueled date. What deducts two star for me is the coffee, while competent the baristas are, coffee is not their strong suit. While not inherently bad, overall nothing special. Give it a shot for the gelato but avoid if you just want coffee.

Went to Spotted Cow because of its great Yelp reviews. I was in town wandering and sightseeing. Yelp did not fail. The Spotted Cow was wonderful! The atmosphere was warm and relaxing, the service wonderful, and the coffee delicious! I had a coconut latte with coconut milk, and a fruit and yogurt parfait (also delicious). I'd definitely visit again!

Seriously the BEST gelato I have ever had. Make sure you try the Madagascar Vanilla Gelato. It is magical. I love when the flavor of vanilla has so much depth that it taste boozy. The staff are courteous and friendly. The atmosphere is welcoming and the coffee is killer.

The Spotted Cow is spot on for breakfast items - coffee, bfast sandos, pastries,etc.. The staff is always friendly and accommodating. They have a little kids area in the back which is perfect if you want to grab a drink and have the kids unwind. The only area of improvement I could suggest for the Spotted Cow is to fix their wireless connection for its users. I frequently go to Spotted Cow to get some work done and get frustrated when the wireless signal is off and on.

Coffee is ok, atmosphere ok-like the couches & chairs but really a couple taking up an entire sofa leaving a love seat (which they were smashed into each others faces anyways) for my friend and I when they walked in right before us. That's not the Spotted Cow's fault but definitely left alot to be desired. Took 10 min's to get our coffee order in after the employees chatting...everyone but my friend and I and the makeout machines already had their coffee, etc. And they didn't call us to let us know our coffee was ready...so alas after waiting 15 min's I went up there & oh here's your drink, which had been partially hidden from my view from the loveseat, so mine is cold & my friends ice has melted almost completely. I haven't been back since (it's been almost a year). I might go again, but I can get better coffee elsewhere, much quicker & with alot less attitude

When it seems like there's 50 Starbucks closing in on you within a 2 mile radius, it's nice to catch a breather from a chain store. Spotted Cow is a great place to hang out and talk over coffee/hot chocolate or warm up on a cold winter day. I'm a huge fan of their hot chocolate. Creamy hot chocolate with whipped cream on top, I just can't seem to get enough. What makes it better is the student discount they offer when you show them your student ID. This is the place to go to warm up, and just hang out with friends.

Mocha Java roast rocks! Thank you kind counter help, very friendly staff! Nice to see a NON-Starbucks in my friend's neighborhood. Gelato selection was pretty impressive too. Affogato somehow sings to my soul. If I lived in the area, I'd probably be at this cafe often. I was a fan.

  • Peter T.

Self admitted coffee snob, Moch Java is the best I have tasted Gellato and Ice Cream some of the best around. Owner and baristas are personal and quite accomodating. Given that the place can be quite busy and maybe not as 'service' oriented as some of the Mill Creek patrons would like, especially the ones who let their kids run crazy and bring food/drink from other businesses. Thank you to Steve and the Spotted Cow family for a WONDERFUL alternative to Starbucks and their old burnt coffee. Oh and I am also a Starbucks stock holder from the original IPO. Steve's skill at the roaster is a good example of why Seattle is known world wide for coffee, we do not grow it, but we know how to roats it! Peter

i used to work at the towncenter about 2-3 yrs ago and it was convenient to just go to spotted cow with only a 30 minute lunch. ive had 4 experiences here: 1st: i order a cheddar melt, which is basically a grilled cheese. i just wanted something quick and easy to get so what can go wrong with a grilled cheese ... 15 minutes later my grilled cheese comes out. seriously, the most basic sandwich known to man kind and it takes that long, i was starving and with walking time i now i had only about 5 minutes to scarf it down 2nd: thought id give it another shot, maybe it was a bad day. Nope. same thing 15 minutes later. never went back. 2-3yrs later... 3rd: this time it took only 5 minutes! i was very happy it was fast, the worker was really nice and before i left, i complimented and tipped her after telling her about my bad service yrs before. 4th: a week later i go back, different worker and i was starving again and great. back to old ways and almost 20 minutes to get my damn grilled cheese. the lady could tell i was pretty annoyed and told me itd be done in a few seconds when i saw her make it more than 10 minutes after i ordered and waited another 10 to get it. goodbye spotted cow, besides the one worker i appreciated for her timely manner, its not just the workers that might be inexperienced but the shop itself.

Spotted cow is a great place to meet friends/co workers/study partners. There's a big table surrounded by couches that make meetings wonderful. They also serve wine! Yes, that's right, wine. The coffee is alright and they're one of the few places willing to make a tea latte without giving you a funny look. But nothing brings me joy like a glass of wine and a bowl of gelato. Now, back to atmosphere. I definitely get all the comments about the noise, it's not always the quietest place. And the kids area IS gross. I'm not sure why it never looks clean. Also, the wi-fi seems to break every time I'm there. Last complaint, not enough plugs. I can sit on the comfy couch, use the big table and connect to the Internet, but I can't plug my computer into your electricity. Weird. The breakfast burritos and bagel sandwiches are a carb dream. I really like to get the tomato bagel. Good for: college kids or young adults. Bad for: people with toddlers that are tall enough to know there's a play area (it's not clean). Good for: brunch on Sunday morning.

Calf, Cow, or Bull? Ordering your drink at "Spotted Cow" just got more creative. I think a good coffee has many components - but a good foam cap and the right temperature go a long way. They have got both down pretty consistently. Definitely easy to find a table + meet up with friends or sign a missing page in a contract...Spotted Cow doubles as my 2nd office about once/week. Trying to write your Blog in a quiet cafe with good music? Head somewhere else...you could be forced to babysit a child who just escaped from the "kids play area" in the back.

I don't normally comment on other reviewer's entries or even take those into consideration when placing my own review...however, I have to preface this by saying... I didn't order food.... I didn't bring in any out of store food/drink items.... (I only say this because it seems that these are the reasons other reviewers have had a negative experience) The barista was friendly and gave several tastes before I eventually decided on the caramel and salty peanut gelato. (soooo yummy) I can't really say how the iced vanilla latte was because I drank it after the gelato (wrong order!) and it was super bitter. I added sugar until I realized that it wasn't the drink, it was the super sugary gelato I had first. Eventually the gelato wore off and the drink was good. I loved the seating area, large couches and chairs with tables throughout. I could see myself hanging out here IF the children's area wasn't busy (as a single, childless gal I don't really want a bunch of screaming kids when I am hanging out or working).

Their ice cream is delish! It's a cozy atmosphere, and there's a kid's play corner which is nice. I'm not a straight coffee drinker, but i do drink chai and the like, and i found their drinks to be just what I was looking for; nothing too wild, right on the money. It's a nice place to hang out and read/do work, and it's a great place to stop in after a workout.

This is the newest location for this wonderful Java house company. Located in the Mill Creek Town Center, come by and check them out. While they do offer a limited selection of finer bottled ales and they do sell bottled wine, I'm not sure if you'd consider this an ale-house or wine tasting room. Top it off with roasting their own coffee beans and hand-made ice cream, sorbet, and gelatos, who could ask for anything more!! Okay Michelle, aka the Yelp Goddess, would... you better check them out M~, they have free Wi-fi!! They also have a live entertainment schedule, it looks like each location has their own offerings and sadly their website hasn't caught up with the number of actual locations they have under their belt or scheduling of entertainment. Oh, gads how could I forget the handcrafted ice cream, gelato, and sorbet made at the store!! They offer about 20 favors, the owner actually studied and learned his craft and believe me it shows!! Creamy, tasty, offerings from the God's, true manna from heaven!! I'm hooked!! A far cry from Char-buck$, tasty, friendly staff, free samples of their ice cream products and a "kewlness" that a small Ma & Pa atmosphere lends to a visit, or two...

Coming home for the holidays, I usually go by the old stomping grounds. First stop Mays Pond to see the skateboarding pot dealer kids, next the 13th hole to watch kids wreck the green with snowboards and sleds, and finally I usually end with a drive around Evergreen to scope out who's decorations I was going to switch around in the middle of the night (I was a lonely an eccentric transfer student). But now it's all glitz and glam with the new town center. Shit feels fake. LA fitness? Bikram Yoga? A faux sawmill breakfast joint? But I must admit, it's sort of "nice fake" I enjoy in orange county or at a nice massage place. I hate to see the creek change but boy do I looove hot yoga. Unlike the fake plasticity of the new town center, the spotted cow somehow manages to escape the faux-luxe vibe. Instead it does the opposite and completely captures the Mill Creek vibe. The only pretentious thing here are the greeting cards and the gelatto (but only by it's italian heritage, it truly is delicious). There's lots of sitting room and a great space for those who want to chat by a fire or a student looking for a comforable table to study at. The coffee is great. Similar to coffee bean and not "char"-buxy. They also carry a decent wine and beer selection. Deschuttes ftw! They're cranberry ice cream not so yummy, but the smoking hot Barista NOM! Spotted cow I wish you were around when I was in High school. I love you, you're the one great thing to come from the monstrosity that is the town center.

The ice cream deserves a solid 3.5 - 4, but the rest of the experience was lacking or even worse. I doubt we'd go back. We had a Living Social deal we needed to use before it expired, so we rushed to get there, parked right in front of it, but couldn't find it. Seriously, no sign. It was dark, and the place looks like a bar at night. After walking around in circles for a while, I noticed the black and white "Spotted Cow" painted sign on the door. We walked in and asked if they were still open. "You've got 7 mintues" the clerk responded. The ice cream was covered wtih plastic wrap for the night, and all the utensils were in the back to be washed. It seemed dark in there - even though there were a few groups sitting at tables - it was obvious they didn't want us in there. The menu was hard to read, and a lot of the ice cream flavors weren't labeled. The ones that were weren't easily read. I found a printed menu and asked to taste one of the flavors. The clerk said, quite rudely, " We don't have all those flavors. You have to look at the freezer to see what we have". We told her how much money was on our coupon. She suggested us getting 3 pints. We picked three flavors, paid, and left with 2 minutes to spare. They very clearly weren't needing our business. I had to ask for spoons 3 times. Neither clerk was at all friendly. Having worked in the food service industry I know how it is to want to close up on time, but we still should have been treated like customers intil the clock struck 10.

Not only is the ice cream amazing, the staff here is wonderful! I left my purse there and when I realized it and called, they were reassuring that they had it and would hold it until I got there. When I walked in the door, they greeted me warmly and it made my night! I think I left my purse because I was distracted by my delicious ice cream - seriously homemade!

I am actually sitting in the Spotted Cow as I write this. Is that allowed? A lot of customers at work talk up the Spotted Cow, so since I had some time to kill after arriving to work too early, I decided to check it out. First, the place is unique for Mill Creek. However, living in Seattle, it's really nothing special which is why it gets three stars. The decor is very kitsch...cow spots on the wall, sea foam green accent walls with large sayings like, "Stray from the herd." (otherwise, good advice.), things like that. Kind of reminds me of a craft store or a daycare or something. Speaking of a daycare, it is kid friendly, which I guess is what makes it unique. Because you have a choice of which coffee shop you chose to buy your coffee from, I don't have a problem with this. I probably wouldn't come here to study, but it's kind of cute that it's kid friendly. I had a turkey cranberry sandwich, which I could have made at home. And they served it with a crappy bag of chips. I guess it is to be expected, but I wouldn't suggest coming here for something to eat..there are too many other good places in the Town Center. There is however, a really large selection of ice cream and gelato for the folks who are into that stuff. I hear good things, but I didn't have any. Barista was friendly. She was chatting it up with a couple of the people in front of me, and knew their drinks and stuff which is nice to see.

Good atmosphere. Turkey and cranberry sandwich is good. My wife got wine and I got coffee so everyone was happy. Wireless was a bit slow. But overall a great place to go to chillax.

Dan and I came here originally for dessert after Thai Rhapsody. We came in and it was your cliche coffee house, and I was really happy about that. Couches and tables all FILLED with customers but not overloaded where it felt crowded. The place had a good vibe to it. The staff was extremely friendly and let Dan and I have a nice little 'tasting' before we finally made our selection. Beautiful art work as well.

I have been here twice in the past week and there are definitely pro's and con's. Typically, I hunt down cafés that have decent table space, outlets, coffee, wireless internet, customer service and ambiance, in no particular order. The first day I entered, the welcome wasn't very warm and I felt rushed to order. I just ordered their special, a peppermint latte. The table space was adequate, the outlets were plentiful and the internet was free and accessible with a password. The coffee wasn't anything special; but it was slightly bitter for my taste. Eventually a barista came up to me, slapped a note on the table and rudely/quickly said the table was reserved at 6:30. No sorry, please or thank you. Only a quick glance and walked away. So, I do understand why some yelpers can say the barista's aren't too friendly. I kindly moved to a different table. 6:30 rolls around, then 7:00 and then 8:30... no one showed up. I guess I moved for no reason, but it's no big deal. I'm currently again at Spotted Cow, only because my normal café was packed beyond belief. Gotta love finals week. I had an iced vanilla latte and the gf had the wedded bliss gelato. The coffee was slightly bitter still, but tasted much better than the peppermint. The gelato was decent. Wanted to try the Bailey's gelato, but they were out! The first barista was very friendly, the second not so much (same one from last time). It was very difficult to find a table today; we had to ask a few people if we could join their table. Third try is the charm! We saw someone cleaning up at the other end and were able to move. Many others also had trouble finding tables. I like giving people/places numerous chances because everyone has bad days... this café is just okay. It's definitely not my first choice.

I want to give my favorite coffee shop a five stars but they are missing one good reading light by the big comfy chairs. The labeling is a bit hokey but the ice cream really is great and comes in many flavors. They have the friendliest staff - Lauren and Sarah are the early bird baristas; and the best, most reliable Wi-Fi of any place I've been to. And where else can you find a Happy Hour at 6 AM where a Grand Americano is only $1.04? And a computer close by to check your email...free.

We just tried Spotted Cow 2 days ago after having dinner in the town center. We saw that there was live music and decided to give it a try. I got the 'minty manure' (a dark green mint ice cream) and my sister got the 'wedding bliss' (a version of cake batter) We both were impressed, and loved the big comfy leather chairs to lounge in while enjoying the band play! Will be going here again!

I love the Spotted Cow. This is a spot that has a little bit of everything. Their coffee is good and they don't skimp on the espresso. They have little sandwiches to snack on while there and they make some good coffee shakes. Also they have gelato and ice cream. They usually have a table that is open where I can sit and relax or get some work done.. they also have some outside tables for when the weather is nice. Parking is plentiful as well. The only downside can be that they have a toddler area so it can get loud from time to time... but I can live with that as long as I have some headphones if I need to concentrate. Overall... I love this place.

Desperate for (late!) morning java and unfamiliar with the joints in Mill Creek, my daughter and I took a chance and stopped in at T.S.C., in spite of the mixed reviews. Our experience, I'm happy to say, was in the sunny side of things - friendly service, good (standard modern coffee shop) ambiance, and the best gosh darned latte I've had in ages (3x shot is standard in a 16 oz. by the way... gotta love that!). I was yummin' it up to the last drop. Great looking light breakfast & lunch menu (minus the less-than-tastefully named items... no way to spin cow poop on a menu to make it sound appetizing... c'mon, people...) and some good-enough-to-drink wines (Penfold's, etc.) available, too.

A nice change from nearby Sbux and their ice cream and milkshakes are so cream-a-liscious!!

I went here based on some positive reviews. The owner served us and was very friendly and informative about her product. I finally settled on Minty Manure (Andes-type flavor) and my daughter has Toffee Health Gelato. They were both very good. Yes, it's a bit expensive but not much more than other places and is homemade, Tasted the coffee (they roast their own) and would definitely come back.

EDIT 14 May '08: Changing my vote from 4 to 5 stars, because the coffee stopped tasting burnt. It was been really good now, every time I've gone in. YAY!!! --- I've been a returning customer to the "old" Spotted Cow (Thomas Lake shopping center on 132nd & 35th) since shortly after it opened. I was thrilled to hear that another Spotted Cow was due to open in the Mill Creek town center, as it is closer to my home. Now that it's been open for awhile, I'm ready to report in. Most of what I can say here goes for both locations, btw. I just love the family-friendly atmosphere, toys for kids, books, free wi-fi, tasty treats, fireplace, comfy sitting areas, etc. This location is more "modern" (very Mill Creek Town Center-ish), and the orginal location is more "cozy". That said, I can't seem to get a good latte here. I've tried so many times. For awhile I switched to getting the cold drinks with ice cream, like the Caffeinated Cow, which really is very delicious. However, it filled me up TOO much (man, I just can't take that much sugar and heavy liquids in my body all at once), and is quite costly. So I went back to the lattes. They just taste burnt, every time. :( I've come here with a number of friends-- a few said the same thing, and a few really liked the coffee. So, I guess it's just one of those things (IT'S STILL BETTER THAN STARBUCKS, THOUGH!!!). The owner is often there, is very very friendly, and is a family man himself. I've met his wife and at least one of his kids at some point. I even ran into his parents outside of the store, which I only knew because they were wearing a Spotted Cow hat. I excitedly told them how much I love to hang out there, and they admitted their relation. They seemed very proud of their son. ;) That's so cool, though-- I'd so much rather support a friendly, local business with names and faces attached, then some silly chain. That is SO important to me. I recommend this place often, and have recruited so many people to come hang out here. It's a real gem, because there are not many places like it in the area. Did I mention that they have live music on some Friday & Saturday nights, and storytimes? Actually, I can't say for sure that this location does, but I know that the Thomas Lake shop does. Oh yeah, and they make their own ice cream, and roast their own beans. Shall I keep going? Really, it'd be an easy five stars if it weren't for that latte not tasting so good thing. :( If I find that that changes, I will definitely come back and change my rating! I also think it would be cool if they updated their website and made it a little more user-friendly, but kudos for at least having one. Still, please go here! There are other tasty treats, for sure. :) And your kids will love you for it. I can't tell you how appreciative I am of the play area! The world would be a better place if we had more Spotted Cows in it.

This is a really cool place to hang out. I'm a mom with two toddlers and it's really nice that they've got a little area for kids to play while the adults enjoy a cup of coffee/tea. Relaxed atmosphere with free WiFi! I don't know why I hadn't tried it sooner. I was stuck on $tarbucks but I'm reformed!

We came here on a sunny Saturday night wanting ice cream and had a very enjoyable experience. There was already a bunch of people in the shop and some live music happening. The shop was nicely sized and had alot of seating in the form of table and chairs and comfy couches. There was such a huge selection of gelato and ice cream, so of course the indecision starts but the gal behind the counter was super patient and nice. We asked a whole bunch of questions regarding the flavors and tested quite a few and she was helpful the entire time. Loved the flavors and ended up getting the 'Wedded Bliss' ice cream which is a cake batter (way better than other places) and the 'Ben and Cherries' gelato, which was soooo good, with the dark cherry pieces. I've been to a bunch of ice cream places around the city and am adding this one to my list of favorites. I will definitely be back for more of the Ben and Cherries gelato.

I tried one of their ice cream flavors-so awesome! Creamy and delicious... I liked the vibe of the place-they had bigger tables for people who were studying/using laptops, couches for people who wanted to read and/or relax, and I like how they sell cute stationary stuff! If I didn't already have the style of post-its that they were selling, I would've bought it from here. I went late afternoon and it looked sort of dark-I want to go back and check it out to see if the lighting is decent for reading so that I can go more often.

This place is awesome! I go there for their caffeinated cows and they are absolutely delicious. They have really great flavors, and the icecream is so smooth and creamy. I've never hung out there, I usually grab and go, but the atmosphere is really nice. I've stopped in there a couple of times when they have bands playing and that's always fun. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because they're always out of my favorite icecream flavor which disappoints me. Guess its popular. Or it wasn't at all so they don't make it anymore :P *shrug*

We stopped in after dinner just down the road and the place sounded very good and the reviews were very good. The atmosphere was terrific, it looked like they were having an open mic night and the person performing was great. The selection of ice cream was pretty good, but the three different flavors that we tried, only one was something to talk about. The mango sorbet was out of this world. The big thing that really irritated me was the person, I said person, behind the counter with a packed place on a Friday night was very unresponsive and seem like we were more of a irritation by having us show up at the establishment. I do believe that this place could have been good or even great but the personnel need a tune up and the attitude was definitely not appreciated. I think we will give this place in the near future and provide a update. I hope the attitude of the people behind the counter changes before people are chased away.
